Our Parish Council is made up of parishioners, the parish priest and (as and when appointed) the pastoral minister. It provides a forum for sharing ideas, discussing priorities and co-ordinating the work of the different parish groups. These groups send written reports to the Council prior to each meeting. Such reports enable the Council members to have an overview of parish activities and, at times, to advise or to help solve any problems that a group may be experiencing. Issues are debated and agreement reached by consensus.
The Parish Council works closely with the Finance Committee and submits an annual Budget covering a wide range of important items.

The Council meets three or four times a year (depending on the amount of parish business). For the first time in 2005 the members of the Council were elected by the parishioners. The Council is chaired by a lay person elected by the other members. In addition to the Council members, a voluntary secretary was appointed to circulate papers before meetings and then to minute the meetings. These minutes are available for parishioners to view.
An annual parish meeting is held to inform all members of the parish about pastoral and financial matters and to discuss priorities.
