Scouts are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities as part of their programme. “Participation” is the key and Scouts within 4th Boxmoor have certainly taken part in some unique activities in recent years. With a more adventurous programme catering for older members, we regularly go out to explore the country on both land and water. Weekend expeditions and week-long Summer Camps, coupled with water sports, hovercrafting and go-karting, provide an exciting challenge and a real sense of exploration all over the United Kingdom. It is not uncommon for the Scouts to participate in upwards of eight camps and expeditions per year reaching as far away as North Wales, Yorkshire and Exmoor.
Other activities such as climbing, emergency aid, navigation and survival skills all add up to a programme of activities that you just can’t do anywhere else! With a Leadership Team trained and qualified in a wide variety of activities, the Scout Troop pushes the boundaries of personal achievement and outdoor challenges.
