Orchestra & Choir

Church Orchestra

Our Church Orchestra provides music weekly for the 11:30 am Mass and for the major liturgical celebrations.  With the Choir, it organises the Carols by Candlelight each Christmas.

The orchestra is blest with instrumentalists who play cello, guitar, trumpet, violin, clarinet, flute, recorders and piano.  Young players are encouraged and their gifts cherished and nurtured.  We are always eager for new players, whatever the standard.

The orchestra participates in regular parish Music Mornings and in Diocesan Music Days where new music is learnt and good practice and ideas shared.

Choir

The choir meets for practice in the church on the first and third Mondays of the month at 8:00pm.  The choir sings at the 11:30 Mass and at all the major liturgical celebrations.  We also sing now and again at weddings.  Anyone who likes to sing is most welcome – no need to be an operatic star!  As seen above, there is very close liaison between Choir and Orchestra.
